5 Ways to Use Frankincense Essential Oil

Frankincense is known as the “King of All Oils” for a reason! I can’t wait for you to try it if you haven’t already.
This awesome oil is one of several actually mentioned in the Bible and is widely known for its healing properties. It has a sweet, woody scent and sends messages to our limbic system in the brain that can powerfully impact our mood and emotions!
Can I get an “Amen” ladies?
To help you get all the powerful benefits of this essential oil, here are my top five ways I’ve made Frankincense a Daily Habit.
Top 5 Most Common Uses for Frankincense Essential Oil
#1: Use Frankincense Oil to Support Healthy Cells
At the age of 20, our cells start aging due to stress, environment, toxins, our food, and other factors. Those aging, or dying, cells can group together and cause some pretty serious health concerns. That’s why we hear so much about taking antioxidants or incorporating things into our food or daily routines that help with anti-aging.
It’s not just a gimmick.
Our cells need daily support to stay alive and healthy. Dead cells equal dead organs and a dead body, eventually.
It’s important now, whatever age that you are, to be PROACTIVELY supporting your cells before you get the “big call” from the doctor that something unexpected and severe is going on inside of you. I’m not trying to be dramatic or put fear on you. I’ve just been in the health world long enough to see this cycle play out in people’s lives.
Pretending something won’t ever affect you is not a good health protocol.
But doing something proactive like using doTERRA Frankincense every day is.
The way I like to do this is to daily put 2-3 drops of doTERRA Frankincense under my tongue, hold it there for 30 seconds, and then swish it down with water. Why under the tongue? I’m glad that you asked. 😉
Things that are placed under the tongue absorb into the body quickly so that’s why I prefer this method. But you can rub it into the bottoms of your feet, swallow a few drops in a Veggie Capsule, or diffuse it daily as well if you don’t enjoy the taste.
#2: Use Frankincense Oil for Skin Imperfections
Do you have an ugly scar you constantly try to cover up? Or a skin tag or other imperfection you wish would disappear? Then make Frankincense a daily habit and watch what happens!
I had two ugly scars I really hated – one on my forehead, above my left eyebrow that I got in 11th grade from playing basketball with a bunch of guys and the other below my knee cap from an accident I had. Both were super visible and not very pretty.
So I made a daily habit of rubbing a drop of Frankincense into the scar a few times a day and now you can barely see both of them!!!
#3: Use Frankincense Oil for Anti-Aging
So, I mentioned internalizing Frankincense for anti-aging of the cells on the inside but you can also use this powerful oil topically to help with the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Simply add a few drops to your morning and evening skin care routine and massage it in. Or rub it directly into a wrinkle or line.
But don’t forget to take your Before picture and then a few weeks later check out your After.

#4: Use Frankincense Oil to Enhance Sleep
Lavender isn’t the only oil that helps support a restful night’s sleep! Frankincense actually works even better for me personally!
I rub 2 drops into the bottoms of my feet and put 3-4 drops in my diffuser (mixed usually with Lavender or Serenity and also Breathe oil).
#5: Use Frankincense Oil to Reduce Stress
Ahhh, just thinking about rubbing Frankincense into the back of my neck relieves the feeling of tension and stress. I’m serious. You have to try it.
Massage a few drops into the back of your neck, under your ears, or even into your chest. If you’re really feeling stressed, consider a warm bath or powering up your diffuser with 6-8 drops of Frankincense in each.
