Spread the love

I LOVE dark chocolate.  And once you go dark, you can’t ever go back.

There are many healthy properties of dark chocolate (I talk about this in my book 5 ALIVE) but this recipe brings so many healthy foods together in one small bite that you can eat these completely guilt-free!

One of my favorite ingredients in this decadent treat is the protein.  This is one of my best health “secrets” – I add protein to everything!

After my first daughter was born I got on a mission to take unhealthy foods and make them healthy by changing out the ingredients.  Thus began my endless hours of experimenting in the kitchen and on my family.  Adding additional protein into your meals or even your things like waffles, cookies, or these amazing Chocolate Truffles has so many benefits, but to name a few you will increase your lean muscle, which in turn helps you burn more fat, and you will also keep your blood sugar at a normal level.

So try these tasty treats for yourself and let me know what you think!

Dark Chocolate Protein Truffles

  • 2 cup walnuts or cashews
  • 1 cup Medjool dates, pitted
  • 1 small Hass avocado, cut into small chunks
  • 2 Tbsp. raw honey
  • 1/3 cup melted coconut oil
  • 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
  • ½ cup cocoa or cacao, unsweetened
  • 3 Tbsp. doTERRA Trim protein

Pick an Essential Oil Add-In:

  • 3 drops doTERRA Wild Orange Essential Oil
  • 3 drops doTERRA Peppermint Essential Oil
  • 3 drops doTERRA Cinnamon Essential Oil
  • 3 drops doTERRA Lemon Essential Oil

Optional Toppings:

  • pinch of salt
  • shredded coconut
  • cocoa nibs
  • sesame seeds
  • chia seeds
  • finely chopped nuts
  • finely chopped dark chocolate pieces

  1. Place the nuts and dates in a food processor and pulse for 1-2 minutes, until finely chopped and the mixture begins to stick together.
  2. Add remaining ingredients to food processor and pulse until well blended. The fudge “dough” should stick together and be moist.
  3. Remove fudge from food processor and form into a ball.  Then break off small chunks and roll into about 15 small balls.
  4. Roll the balls in the toppings of your choice (or sprinkle if using sea salt).
  5. Once rolled, place the balls in the fridge so the coconut oil can firm up.

Enjoy your delicious, raw fudge protein truffles.  And let me know below what you think and your favorite way to make it!
